Day 1: Today we will fly from Phoenix and other cities to Atlanta to begin our tour to the charming Carolina’s. We’ll also be attending the Billy Graham Conference at the Cove. After the conference we will see many of the major attractions along the coastline of North and South Carolina. Our first night will be in Chattanooga. [breakfast included] Day 2: After a hearty breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express, we are on our way to visit Ruby Falls. Ruby Falls is the tallest and deepest underground waterfall in the world. It is the jewel of Lookout Mountain. Then, it’s off to Sticky Fingers for lunch. You will probably need more than one napkin after enjoying this great food. After lunch we’ll continue on to Asheville, North Carolina, and register for the Billy Graham Conference at the Cove. [breakfast and dinner included] Day 3: The Conference continues with Cliff Barrows and friends. This will truly be an unforgettable Senior Celebration at the Cove. [breakfast, lunch, and dinner included] Day 4: Today breakfast and lunch will be included at the Cove, with the last session this morning. This afternoon we’ll visit the famous Biltmore Estate, built at the end of the 19th Century by George Washington Vanderbilt. You will be amazed by this 250 room estate. We’ll be in Asheville for the night. [breakfast and lunch included] Day 5: This morning we’ll continue east to Charlotte with a visit to the Billy Graham Library. Here you will experience state-of-the-art exhibits, multi-media displays, and view the Graham family homestead. We continue our travels east on the coast to Wilmington, North Carolina. [breakfast included] Day 6: Before traveling to Myrtle Beach, we will tour the USS North Carolina. This World War II Veteran Ship is anchored on the Cape Fear Coast. After lunch we’ll continue to Myrtle Beach, where we spend two nights at a beach front hotel. You will enjoy the famous white sand beach of this popular resort area. This evening we’ll be entertained at the Alabama Theater. [breakfast included] Day 7: The Myrtle Beach area is located on the 60 mile long Grand Strand. It is fast becoming a rival for Branson. This afternoon we’ll have time for shopping and a visit to the IMAX Theater at Broadway at the Beach. After returning to our hotel, we will prepare for our evening attraction at the beautiful Carolina Opry Theater. We will also be delighted by a wonderful dinner at the Benjamin Calabash Restaurant. What an evening! Second night at Myrtle Beach. [breakfast, dinner included] Day 8: This morning we’ll drive to Historic Charleston and be joined by a local guide to acquaint us with a tour of the 300 year old historic Charleston. After some shopping and a noon meal in the old city, we’ll head a few miles north to spend the night. [breakfast included] Day 9: We’ll travel west today to Atlanta, Georgia, and visit the massive dome of granite called Stone Mountain. Three colossal figures: Jefferson Davis, “Stonewall” Jackson, and Robert E. Lee are sculpted on the mountain’s sheer northern face. Later today we’ll check into our hotel. [breakfast included] Day 10: This morning we will fly home with memories of an incredible trip with great fellowship at the Cove and friendships strengthened as we traveled through the Carolinas. | ||
