Tour Itinerary
Day 1:  We will depart at 7:00 a.m. We will stop in Kansas City for our noon meal. This afternoon sit back and enjoy seeing the corn fields of Iowa. We will spend the night in Waterloo.

Day 2:  This morning we’ll visit the John Deere Factory where they assemble tractors. This afternoon we’ll visit the House on the Rock. This extraordinary multilevel home stands atop a chimney-like rock 450 feet above the Wyoming Valley. The house is a modern architectural wonder with pools of running water, waterfalls, massive fireplaces, and a room of windows jutting out over the valley. Some call it bizarre. We think you’ll be fascinated by the unique house. The night will be in the Dells area.

Day 3:  This morning you’ll enjoy a boatride through the upper Wisconsin Dells. We’ll embark on a scenic journey through majestic sandstone bluffs that cradle the mighty Wisconsin River and hear the legends of brave settlers and fearless Indians. Night in Manitowoc.

Day 4:  We begin at the Manitowoc Maritime Museum where the saga of the Great Lakes is preserved in artifacts and records. This afternoon we travel to Green Bay for lunch. On our way to St. Ignace, Michigan, we’ll tract through Hiawatha National Forest as we skirt the top of Lake Michigan. We spend two nights in St. Ignace by Lake Huron.

Day 5:  This morning we’ll be transferred to our ferry that will take us to Mackinac Island. Since automobiles are not permitted on the island, a horse-drawn carriage will be waiting to take us on a tour of the Island. The lunch stop will be at the Grand Hotel buffet. You will be free this afternoon to further explore the Island and Old Fort Mackinac on the high bluff overlooking the harbor that dates back to 1780. Second night at St. Ignace.

Day 6:  Departing St. Ignace we will travel north to the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point, memorializing the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald. We then travel to Tahquamenon Falls Brewery and Pub. After lunch we’ll view the beautiful falls. Then, we’re off for a boat cruise to the amazing Pictured Rocks on Lake Superior. We will be in Munising, Michigan for the night.

Day 7:  Today we continue west along the Upper Peninsula, stopping at Kitchiti-Kipe to visit the Big Springs in the Palms Book State Park on Indian Lake. This is an amazing site. We are in Wausau, Wisconsin for the night.

Day 8:  After breakfast, we continue our travels through Minneapolis, arriving in Clear Lake, Iowa, where we will board the “Lady Of the Lake” for a dinner cruise. We will spend the night in Clear Lake.

Day 9:  We’re homeward bound. Although the tour has come to an end, the special friends and fond memories will last a lifetime. We’ll arrive home late this afternoon.
